In creating your website your first concern should always be your customers and only then should you worry about search engines.
Because it doesn’t matter how much search engine traffic you get if your pages are not designed to convert your visitors into paying customers you basically waste your time.
Another really important thing to remember is Title tags and descriptions as they need to contain your best keywords and be descriptive of whatever services or products you may offer.
Tip… The first & last sentence of any given page is the most important text on your website and can have a huge effect in your search listing positions. USE YOUR BEST KEYWORDS HERE!
Then comes the H1 and H2 headers and these are equally important and should be used as titles for certain parts of your page and it is vital that you use your best keywords in your heading tags too because this will explain what your website is about to the search engines.
Tip… Use bold and strong tags in order to put extra emphasis on your most important keywords but do this in moderation and you will see better results!
Now lets move on to your internal linking structure.
Your internal links should be easily read and understood by the search engine spiders and should not be designed in flash or JavaScript.
The reason you should never use JavaScript and Flash animations for your navigation is that search engines can’t read and interpret the coding used in these programming languages.
You will need to use keywords to link your internal pages together instead of using the text “click here” as your anchor text use something descriptive and relevant to the page your linking to.
Always have plenty of content on every page of your website and make sure your content is unique and not some played out stuff stolen from another webmaster’s website.
